Stone-clad bathroom with twin basins and pendant lighting

Bathroom remodeling,
built to stay dry.

Waterproofing, substrate and drainage done properly first — then the tile, stone and fixtures you actually picked out.

The approach

The part you cannot see
is the part that fails.

Every bathroom that fails, fails in the same place: behind the tile. Substrate that was not right, a waterproofing membrane that was rushed or skipped, a slope to the drain that was close enough rather than correct.

None of that is visible on handover day. It becomes visible eighteen months later, as a stain on a ceiling below, and by then the fix means removing everything that was installed on top of it.

So we build bathrooms from the substrate outward. Framing checked and packed true, boards appropriate to a wet area, membrane applied and given time to cure, falls set properly to the drain, and only then the tile, stone and fixtures. Marissa M. came to us for a bathroom renovation and got a prompt quote — but what she paid for is the layer nobody photographs.

What is included

Everything this
work involves.

One licence covers all of it. You are not appointing six separate trades and refereeing between them.

Full strip-out

Careful removal back to studs and joists, with the existing condition assessed properly rather than tiled over.

Waterproofing and substrate

Correct board for a wet area, membrane applied to specification, and falls set so water goes where it is meant to.

Plumbing and drainage

Relocated supply and waste, concealed cisterns, thermostatic valves and drainage that is inspected before it is covered.

Wet rooms and walk-in showers

Curbless and low-threshold showers, linear and point drains, and glass set to a frame that is genuinely plumb.

Tile, stone and joinery

Large-format tile set flat, layouts set out so cuts land sensibly, and vanity joinery that fits the space it is in.

Ventilation, lighting and heat

Extraction that actually clears the room, damp-rated lighting, and underfloor heating where it is wanted.

How it runs

Four stages,
no surprises.

You will always know which stage you are in and what happens next.

01

Design and selections

Layout, fixtures, tile and stone confirmed. Tile setting-out agreed on paper before anything is cut.

02

Strip-out and first fix

Back to structure, then plumbing and electrical repositioned and inspected while everything is still open.

03

Waterproofing

Substrate, membrane and falls. The stage we will not compress, whatever the programme says.

04

Tile, fixtures and handover

Tiling, glass, sanitaryware, joinery, then a walkthrough and a punch list you sign off.

Questions

Straight answers.

A single bathroom typically runs four to seven weeks on site. Waterproofing and tile both need curing and setting time that cannot safely be rushed, and that is most of the difference between a bathroom that lasts and one that does not.

Yes. It requires either recessing the floor structure or building up the surrounding floor, so it is easier to plan at the start than to add later. We will tell you which approach your floor structure allows.

Sometimes, particularly in older homes — failed waterproofing, rot in the subfloor, or plumbing that was never done to code. We raise it immediately, price it in writing, and get your agreement before doing the work.

Moving plumbing or altering electrical usually requires one. Replacing fixtures in the same positions often does not. We will confirm which applies and handle the submission if needed.

Yes, and it is often more efficient. We will phase them so you are never left without a working bathroom in the house.
